Born in Beirut, Jehan Barbur is one of the most talented and youngest female vocals in Turkey. She completed her studies in Turkey, and polished her career as a singer. With Turkish veteran musician Bülent Ortaçgil as her mentor, she already has a critically acclaimed album out. After the success of her 2009 debut release ‘Uyan’, she is back with ‘Hayat’ (Life), a collection of her classy, dreamy acoustic songs. All the songs in her album Hayat —except the one composed jointly by the singer Sarp Maden—are written and composed by Barbur. She is currently riding the crest of the wave with her album Uyan at the top of the charts of several alternative music channels with her compositions “Gidersen,” “Leyla,” and “Neden”. Her music has been influenced by (to name just a few) Erkan Ogur, Vedat Sakman, Birsen Tezer, Faith Erdemci, Sumru Agiryürüyen, Pinhani, Gülay, Cengiz Özkan and Jülide Özçelik.
